“Takes equal parts wit, weirdness and intelligence and whips them up into a dark treat” The Metro
Dead of Night
Our spooky selection of ghouls and goblins is out on the road again. After a great reception in 2008 ("The best place to scare yourself silly" - The Metro) this evening of contemporary ghost stories with a twist is back for more. And don't forget to leave the lights on this Halloween, because we'll be making our first visit to Halifax's Sqaure Chapel Centre for the Arts on 31 October. Book your tickets now by calling the Box Office on 01422 349422. If you can't make it, then we'll also be back in action at Holy Trinity in Leeds as part of the Carriageworks on Tour season. Box Office for this is 0113 2243801. Are you scared of the dark?
Script News
Following the end of the Dead of Night tour, Imprint's Artistic Director Dick Bonham will be spending some time at his laptop working on our scripts. First up is a new draft of last year's Edinburgh show More or Less Ourselves ("original, beutifully performed and well-conceived" - National Student). A number of parties have shown interest in the piece being developed, so watch this space. This will be followed by work on our next show, The Slow Songs Make Me Sad, which will arrive fully-formed early in 2011.
What else have we been up to?
Imprint's Dick and Chloe have recently been stretching their creative legs in a number of different projects, so we thought you might like to hear about them.
Chloe has been wowing audiences up and down the country with her cabaret act Ruby Corset: cellist, singer, serial killer... And she recently premiered the full-length theatre version of her show at Emerge, The Carriageworks and Light Night. The next date is 3 November at the Peacock Lounge in Huddersfield, with more being booked in for 2010.
Dick, meanwhile, has been collaborating with theatre maker Jamie Fletcher on a series of performances under the PLaY banner. Next up are tours for their most recent pieces Time Dilation (which had an outing at Light Night during October) and 'Til Someone Gets Hurt, which was developed as part of a unique ten-day residency at BAC in London. Imprint is currently funded by Leeds City Council's arts@leeds programme
